- Mussels - 25
- Moodari - 2 ½
- Rice flour - 1 cup
- Coconut(half portion) -
- Shallots - 2
- Cumin seeds - 1 ½
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Salt(to taste) -
- Luke warm water(as required) -
- Oil(to fry) -
For marination:
- Chilly powder - 2 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Salt(to taste) -
- Water(as required) -

Instructions
- Clean the mussels and boil it in hot water to open the shell.
- Knead the grinded moodari, rice flour, cumin seeds, salt, shallots, turmeric powder, coconut with water as required to make a smooth dough.
- Take a small portion of this dough and fill it inside each mussel shells with the mussel in it.
- Steam cook the filled mussel shell for 15-20 minutes and remove the shells.
- Mix the ingredients for marination and cover the steam cooked mussel in it.
- Heat oil in a kadai and fry the marinated mussels in it by 3-4 at a time.
- Serve Kadukka Nirachathu as an evening snack.
