Gothsu is a South Indian recipe, used as a side dish for Idli/ dosa/ upma| pongal. Maanga Gothsu is delicious for idli and dosa. i love to have daily in the break fast when the mango season start. This maango gothsu is also an awesome side dish for variety rice.

  • Raw mango 1 no.
  • Red chili 2 no.
  • Coconut 2 tbsp
  • coriander seed 1/5 tsp
  • cumin seed 1/5 tsp
  • roasted gram 1 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • asafoetida 1 pinch
  • oil 2 tbsp
  • mustard 1/4 tsp
  • turmeric powder 1/5 tsp


  • peel the skin of mango and chop it
  • In a blender add red chili, coconut, roasted gram, coriander seed, and cumin seed and grined it by adding little water
    Maanga Gothsu –
  • heat the oil in a kadai and temper the mustard, asafoetida and add raw mango and salt and mix it
    Maanga Gothsu –
  • add grinded paste and turmeric powder and mix well

  • add 1/2 glass of water and allow to cook for 10 minutes in a low flame
    Maanga Gothsu –
  • now Maanga gotsu is ready to serve
