Mathi Fry which is a very popular and easy dish made with sardines. This is a typical Kerala traditional recipe which you can normally find in almost all Kerala restuarants and homes.

- Mathi( Sadrines ) - 1/2 kg
- Fresh green pepper corns - 4-5
- garlic - 15-20
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Lime juice( optional ) - 2 tbsp
- Curry leaves -
- Salt to taste -
- Coconut oil for frying -

Instructions
- Grind pepper corns along with garlic, turmeric powder, lime juice and salt to a thick paste . marinate the cleaned and washed fish and keep it aside for 10 - 15 minutes.
- Heat oil in a non - stick pan and fry the fishes till both sides become brown and crispy.
- Mathi is ready to serve. It goes well with boiled rice or kappa.
