Mudakathan Rasam is prepared from a plant named Mudakathan Keerai, very popular in Tamil Nadu. The herb is effective in treatment of joint pain, arthritis and inflammation.   • For preparing Mudakathan Rasam, first rinse the leaves and saute it for a minute.
  • Add water and cook it.
  • Add turmeric and salt.
  • In a mixer jar crush cumin, pepper, tomatoes, curry leafs and garlic.
  • Add this mixture to the boiling leaves.
  • Add tamarind water and let it boil.
  • Finally add the seasonings: curry leaves, red chili, hing, and mustard seeds to the Mudakathan Rasam and serve.
