- Snake guard/padavalam - 250 g
- Jackfruit seed - 5-6
- Toor daal(thuvara parippu) - 1/2 cup
- Coconut(grated) - 1/2 of one
- Green chilly - 3
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Mustard - 1/2 tsp
- Dry red chilly - 2
- Curry leaves(little) -
- Oil - 2 tbsp
- Salt(to taste) -
- Water - 2 1/2 cup

- Scrape the skin of the snake guard and remove the seeds. Wash it and chop into small pieces. Take all other ingredients and keep it ready.
- Cook the above ingredients in water with turmeric powder and salt as required. You can also cook toor dal separate in a pressure cooker.
- Grind grated coconut to make a smooth paste and pour it into curry and let it boil.
- Heat oil in a kadai and add mustard, dry red chilly and curry leaves. When it starts spluttering turn off the flame.
- Mix it with curry and serve.
