- Prawns - 250 g
- Red chili powder(¾ tsp) -
- Turmeric powder(a pinch) -
- Basmati rice(soaked in water for half an hour and drained) - 2 cup
- Onion - 2, chopped
- Crushed ginger & garlic - 1 ½
- Pepper powder - 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder(¾ tsp) -
- Garam masala powder - ¼ tsp
- Dried lemon(optional) - 1
- Coriander leaves - 2 tbsp
- Water - 3 cup
- Salt(to taste) -
- Ghee/ clarified butter - 2 tbsp
- Oil - 3 tbsp

- Marinate the cleaned prawns with red chili powder, a pinch of turmeric powder and salt. Heat 2 tbspboil in a pan and fry the prawns just till done. Keep it aside.
- Add sliced tomato and green chilly,saute for 4-5 minutes in medium flame
- Add black pepper powder, turmeric powder, garam masala and salt and saute till the raw smell disappear. Crush half of the fried prawns and mix it.
- Pour enough water and bring it to boil
- When the rice is ready,Add fried prawns and chopped coriander leaves on top and combine slowly.Remove it from the flame.
- Hot and delicious Prawn Majboos is ready now.
