Sweet Tomato Rice Bit sweet and a bit salty tomato rice 5 nos Tomato2 nos Onions (chopped)1/2 tsp Cumin seeds (Jeerakam)3 nos Cloves (Grambu)2 Bay leaves (Vazhana/Karuga ela)1/2 tsp Black pepper1 cup Green peasCoriander leaves (A small bunch)1 tsp Red chilly powder2 tsp GheeSalt (As reqd)4 tsp Sugar Wash rice, drain water and keep aside.Heat ghee in a pan.Add cumin seeds, cloves, bay leaves and pepper.Add chopped onions and fry, till brown.Add washed green peas and cook for a minute.Add rice and cook for 2 mins.Grind tomatoes with coriander leaves to a puree.Add the tomato puree with water (of desired quantity) to the rice.Add red chilly powder, salt and sugar.Cook the rice, till the water is completely absorbed.:- Serve with chutney or pickle.
