Rava Laddu Without Coconut | Easy Traditional Diwali Sweet

Celebrate Diwali with a nostalgic sweet that requires minimal ingredients and no coconutRava Laddu, also known as Sooji Laddu, is a timeless treat that brings back warm childhood memories. Perfectly soft, slightly crunchy, and infused with the aroma of ghee and cardamom, this coconut-free version is ideal for those who love traditional sweets with a lighter touch.

Why Choose Rava Laddu Without Coconut?

Rava Laddu without coconut has its own unique appeal. While the coconut version offers a chewy texture and added richness, skipping coconut makes the laddu lighter, has a longer shelf life, and suits those who avoid coconut for dietary reasons. It’s an ideal option for gifting and storing during the festive season without worrying about spoilage.

A Classic Diwali Sweet Made Simple

One of the highlights of this laddu is how quick and easy it is to make. It uses pantry staples like semolina (rava/sooji), sugar, ghee, cardamom, and milk. The absence of coconut simplifies the process and enhances the shelf stability. Whether you’re preparing a last-minute sweet for guests or making batches for festive hampers, this version is a dependable and delightful choice.

Perfect for All Ages and Occasions

The soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture combined with the comforting flavors of ghee and cardamom make it a hit with both kids and elders. It’s a versatile sweet—not just for Diwali, but also for other festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi or Navratri, or even as a simple after-meal dessert.

Tips to Make the Best Rava Laddu Without Coconut

To get the best results, use fine semolina and roast it on low heat to ensure a pleasant nutty aroma without browning. Adding warm milk helps in binding the laddus while enhancing softness. Store the prepared laddus in an airtight container to keep them fresh for up to a week.

Celebrate Diwali with Homemade Goodness

Skip store-bought sweets and make these simple, homemade Rava Laddus that fill your home with festive cheer. With no coconut involved, this version is not only easy to make but also perfectly suited for sharing and storing throughout the festive season.

Instructions

  • Take a pan and heat 1 teaspoon of ghee on medium heat.
  • Once hot, fry the cashews and raisins in it till nice golden brown.
  • Then add the sooji (semolina) and roast it stirring continuously till you get a nice aroma. This will take around 6-7 minutes. Please remember to keep stirring because sooji once hot can burn very quickly.
  • Now add powdered sugar mix well and remove it from the flame.
  • Finally add the milk and mix well till blended.
  • Once the sooji has cooled down a bit, transfer to a large bowl. Take a small amount of mixture in your hand. Press it with your hands and form a round shape of a size of a golf ball. If you are not able to form a ladoo, add 1 tablespoon more of milk. Repeat the process till the mixture is over.
  • Traditional styled sweet laddus are ready.
