Ingredients
- bottle gourd 1/2kg -
- small onion 15 no. -
- red chili 2 no. -
- Sambar powder : 1 tsp -
- Salt to taste -
- Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp -
- oil 5 tsp -
- Grated Coconut : 2 tsp -
- groundnut powder 2 tsp -
- Mustard : 1/2 tsp -
- broken urad dal 1/4 tsp -
- curry leaves 6 no. -

Instructions
- peel the skin and chop the bottlegourd
- in a pan heat the oil and temper the mustard, broken urad dal and curry leaves and add chopped onion and saute it for two mins
- now add turmeric and chopped bottle gourd and mix it and allow to cook for 2 mins
- now add sambar powder and salt and mix it
- add required water for the bottlegourd poriyal and allow to cook, until the bottle gourd get cooked
- once the bottle gourd get cooked, add grated coconut and groundnut powder and mix it and turn off the flame
- now bottle gourd poriyal is ready to serve
