Chena Curry (Elephant Yam Curry) Elephant Yam(Chena) masiyal 400 gm Elephant yam (Chena)50 gm Red gram (Thuvaraparippu)2 nos Green chillies (chopped)1 tsp Mustard seedsCurry leaves (A few)Asafoetida (A pinch, Kayam)Coriander leaves (A few)1 LemonOil for seasoningSalt (As reqd) Cut chena into small pieces. Cook the chenas along with the red gram and green chillies in a pressure cooker.Grind the cooked chena and dal in a mixer. Keep this aside.Heat a little oil in a pan or a kadai.Pour the fine paste of yam/chena and dhal. Add the seasoning after frying them in oil or ghee. Allow the mixture to simmer for 2-3 minutes.Add salt and mix well. Then add coriander leaves.Finally add a few drops of lemon juice. :- Serve with plain rice. Kerala
