Ingredients
- Chickpeas - 800 gm
- Oil - 2 tbsp
- Bay leaves - 2 nos
- Cloves - 6 nos
- Cardamoms - 4 nos
- Peppercorns - 6 nos
- Onion(sliced) - 3 nos
- Tomato(chopped) - 2 nos
- Garlic paste - 2 tbsp
- Ginger Paste - 1 tbsp
- Coriander powder - 2 tbsp
- Cumin powder - 1 tbsp
- Red chilli powder - ½ cup
- Turmeric powder - ¼ tsp
- Garam masala - 2 tsp
- Ginger - 1 small
- Coriander leaves(chopped) - 2 tbsp

Instructions
- Heat the oil in a deep, thick-bottomed pan on a medium flame.
- Add the dry spices v cumin, coriander, red chilli, turmeric and garam masala powders. Fry for 5 minutes.
- Simmer and cook covered for 10 minutes.
- Use a flat spoon to mash some of the chickpeas coarsely. Mix well.
- Garnish with juliennes of ginger and finely chopped fresh coriander leaves.
