Ingredients
- Tur Dal / Toor dal(Thuvaraparippu) - 1 cup
- Garlic pods - 3 nos
- Ginger(A small piece) -
- Green chillies - 5 nos
- Coriander leaves - 1/2 bunch
- Cumin seeds(Jeerakam) - 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Salt(As reqd) -
- Bay leaves(Karuga/Vazhana ela) - 1 no
- Cinnamon stick(Karugapatta) - 1 no
- Onion - 1/2 of
- Ghee/Cooking oil - 2 -

Instructions
- Grind together the green chillies, coriander leaves, ginger and cumin seeds into a paste.
- Cook the toor dal, along with garlic pods and turmeric powder.
- Saute the bay leaves and cinnamon stick for sometime.
- Add onions & fry till golden brown.
- Add the ground paste & fry till all the water leaves & the paste turns brown in colour.
- Add the cooked dal.
- Add salt to taste.
- Garnish with coriander leaves.
- :- Serve with Roti / Paratha / Jeera Rice.
