Ingredients
- Black whole urad - 1 cup
- Rajma - 1/2 cup
- Tomato(finely cut) - 2 pcs
- Onion(finely cut, big) - 1 no
- Garlic pods(finely cut) - 8 -
- Ginger(grated or finely cut) - 1/2 inch
- Green chillies(finely cut) - 2 -
- Cumin seeds(Jeerakam) - 1 tsp
- Asafoetida(Kaayam/Hing) - 2 pinches
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Coriander powder - 2 tsp
- Dal makhani masala(optional) - 1 tsp
- Butter - 2 tbsp
- Salt(As reqd) -
- Oil - 3 tbsp

Instructions
- Wash the whole black urad dal.
- Semi crush the rajma(dry) in a mixer for 2-3 secs.
- Let the cooker cool off and check if the lentils are cooked thoroughly. If not add little water and keep on a low flame for 10 mins.
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Add jeera and let it blacken a bit.
- Add asafoetida, green chillies and finely cut garlic and let it turn brown.
- Add onion and fry till brown.
- Add tomatoes, turmeric & coriander powder and dal makhani masala and stir well.
- Add the cooked lentils adding appropriate salt.
- Bring it to a boil.
- Add butter and simmer for 5 mins and switch off the stove.
- :- Sumptous Maah ki daal is ready!!!!!
