Hot And Sour Chicken Soup

A very easy to make soup which can be enjoyed on winter evenings

  • 1/2 cup Cabbage shredded
  • 1/2 cup Carrot grated
  • 1/2 cup Chicken cooked and shredded
  • 1/4 cup Spring onions chopped
  • 3 1/2 cup Clear vegetable stock
  • 2 tbsp Vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp Chilly sauce
  • 1 tbsp Coriander leaves chopped
  • 1 tbsp Cornflour dissolved in 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • salt As reqd


  • Heat oil in a wok over high flame. Add cabbage, carrots, chicken, spring onions and stir-fry over a high flame for 2 minutes.
  • Add the stock, vinegar, soya sauce, chilly sauce, coriander, pepper and salt. Simmer for 2 minutes.
  • Add the cornflour mixture and boil for 3 to 4 minutes while stirring continuously.
  • Serve hot garnished with coriander leaves.
