Instant Murukku / Chakkli

Thus is very easy to prepare & Very crispy . Basically this recipe is made with very less ingredients what we have home always .

  • Idli Rice flour 1 cup
  • maida 1/2 cup
  • red chili powder 1/2 tbsp
  • turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • cumin seed 1 tsp
  • asafoetida 1/2 tsp
  • butter 1 tbsp
  • curd 1/2 tbps
  • water as required
  • oil to fry


  • In a bowl add idli rice flour, maida, salt, red chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin seed, asafoetida and butter mix it
  • add curd and mix it
  • add required water and mix well
  • make a fine and soft dough
  • Take a murukku mould, apply oil and stuff the dough
  • Press it and make a shape
  • Heat the oil and deep fry it until it get golden brown
  • Now instant murukku is ready to serve
