Instructions

  • For preparing the delicious snack, first peel the Kadachakka or breadfruit, cut it into 3 - 4 pieces (preferably vertically) and remove the core (which is called as Koonju). Cut the pieces further into thin sizes and keep the pieces aside.
  • Take some water in a glass or bowl. Add salt and turmeric powder into this water and stir it well. Keep this aside.
  • Heat oil in a cheenachatti/frying pan and put the Kadachhakka pieces into the hot oil (in small quantities) and fry the pieces properly. When the pieces are fried properly, add 1 - 2 tsp of salt water mixed with turmeric powder and stir well. After 2 - 3 minutes take the fried pieces out from the oil and keep them in a plate.
  • Fry the curry leaves in the same oil and when colour of the curry leaves turn into golden brown, take them out from the oil and add it into the fried Kadachakka pieces/chips. Add red chilli powder also and mix it well. Curry leaves are optional, the chips taste perfect even without curry leaves.
  • Kadachakka (Breadfruit) Chips is ready. The chips can be served for teatime with Coffee/Tea/Cool drinks.
