Kappa Puzhungiyathu - Kerala Dish
Tastes great with fish curry and rice
Ingredients
- 1 no Tapioca/Kappa
- 2 tsp Salt
- 4 tbsp Grated coconut
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds Jeerakam
- 2 nos Garlic pods
- 3 nos Small onions Kunjulli
- 2 nos Dry red chillies Kollamulaku
- 1/4 tsp Mustard seeds
- Curry leaves A few
- Oil As reqd
Instructions
- Heat some water in a small vessel.
- Add the tapioca pieces.
- When the pieces are half boiled, add salt and mix well.
- Cook till the pieces have become soft.
- Drain off excess water.
- Smash the cooked tapioca pieces well.
- Add the ground paste to tapioca and mix well on low flame.
- Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a pan.
- Splutter mustard seeds.
- Add small onions, red chilly and curry leaves.
- Saute till small onions are brown in colour.
- Add this seasoning to tapioca and mix well on low flame.
- Switch off the flame.
- :- Tapioca dish is ready.
- :- Goes well with fish curry.
