Nice recipe using fresh methi leaves

  • 1 bunch Methi leaves chopped, Uluva ela
  • 3 cups Cooked rice
  • 5 nos Shallots chopped, Kunjulli
  • 1 tsp Chilly powder
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp Asafoetida Kayam
  • 1 tsp Urad dal Uzhunnu parippu
  • Ground nuts Few
  • Salt As reqd


  • For preparing methi rice, first heat oil. Add urad dal, ground nuts and asafoetida.
  • Add chopped methi leaves and fry well.
  • Add turmeric and chilly powder.
  • Sprinkle salt water and cook methi leaves.
  • Add rice and mix well.
  • Methi rice is ready.
