1 cup Moong dalDried ginger (A small piece)3 cubes Jaggery3 tbsp Coconut2 cups All purpose flour (Maida)Turmeric powder (A pinch)Salt (As reqd)Water (As reqd)Oil (As reqd) First soak moong dal for about one hour and then cook well in a pressure cooker with water.Then empty the water present in cooker after cooking.Put the grated jaggery in a glass of water and boil. Stir well with a spoon until it becomes little bit thick.Then add dried ginger pieces to the jaggery mixture. Pour the content onto the cooked moong dal. Then add coconut and mix well. When it becomes cold, roll into small balls.After that, put maida in a cup, add little bit salt and then a pinch of turmeric to obtain a yellow colour. Add water then mix well so that the batter looks like that of idli mix. Then pour sufficient in a pan and heat. When it becomes hot, take balls and dip in the batter and then deep fry it.Beautiful and yummy modhakom is ready. It will be very yummy for kids. Kerala
