- Spinach(Paalak) - 1/2 kg
- Rice - 1/2 kg
- Green chillies - 4 -
- Garlic pods - 5 -
- Salt(As reqd) -
- Cumin seeds(Jeerakam) - 1 tbsp
- Onion - 1 no
- Oil - 3 tbsp

Instructions
- Heat oil in a vessel.
- Add cumin seeds, slit green chillies, sliced onion and garlic cloves and fry them till they are done (brown).
- Add chopped and washed spinach and fry for some time.
- Add the washed rice and fry till the rice becomes transparent.
- Add water to the ratio of 1:2 to the rice.
- Add salt and cook as you cook the regular rice.
