Soya Bean Gravy

Soya Bean (Soya Nuggets or Mealmaker) is an excellent source of protein and has a lot of health benefits too.This gravy is medium spicy so its suitable for kids too. Soya Bean is tasteless and has a tendency to absorb any flavour that it is cooked with so I always spice it up with strong spices to make it more flavourful.

  • Chop the onion, tomato and green chili
  • par boil the soya bean/ chunks by adding salt
  • heat the oil in the pan and temper the cumin seeds
  • saute the onion for 3 mins until the onion turn the colour
  • add tomato and green chili and mix it
  • add ginger garlic paste and mix it
  • add salt, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala and methi leaves and mix it
  • allow to cook the masala
  • add curd and mix it
  • add soya bean / chunks and mix it
  • add besan flour and mix it
  • add required water for gravy and allow to cook
  • cook until the gravy becomes thick consistency
  • now soya bean gravy is ready, garnish with coriander leaves and serve with puri
