Tomato Carrot Rasam is a spicy and tangy flavored delicious soup consistency curry dish, very popular in South India. On rainy and chilly days, relishing a cup of hot rasam, is a delight, very soothing for your tummy. Rasam keeps your body warm. Tomato Carrot Rasam is a healthy soup version, rich in vital nutrients required for body. What makes the dish unique and special is the addition of carrots. Carrots improve eyesight. This is a healthy and nutritious curry dish, full of vital nutrients required for body. This is one of the easiest of curry dishes that go well with hot rice. For seasoning:-


  • Heat 2 tsp of oil in a pan.
  • Add the chopped tomatoes, grated carrot, turmeric powder, coriander powder, salt, rasam powder and pepper powder and saute for 1 minute.
  • Cover the pan and cook on medium flame for 5 mins.
  • Mash/blend the above mixture.
  • Boil the above mixture with 3 cups of water and tamarind pulp for 3 - 4 mins.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and switch off the stove.
  • Heat oil in another small frying pan.
  • Add and fry the seasoning ingredients like mustard, cumin, red chilly, curry leaves and 1 garlic pod until done.
  • Add it to the rasam and keep covered for 5 mins.
  • :- Tasty and nutritious rasam is ready which tastes good with white rice.
  • :- Serve it with papad. This Rasam is really good for people/kids who are picky eaters.
