Cuisine Kerala Prep Time 20 minutes Servings people MetricUS Imperial Ingredients Tomatoes(cut them in cubes) - 3 nos Grated Coconut - 1 cup Turmeric powder - 1 tsp Cumin seeds(Jeerakam) - 1 tbsp Water - 2 cups Oil - 3 tbsp Mustard seeds - 1 tbsp Onion - 2 nos Black pepper - 2 tsp Green chillies - 3 - Garlic pods - 3 nos Curry leaves(A few) - Salt(As reqd) - Yoghurt - 2 cups Cuisine Kerala Prep Time 20 minutes Servings people MetricUS Imperial Ingredients Tomatoes(cut them in cubes) - 3 nos Grated Coconut - 1 cup Turmeric powder - 1 tsp Cumin seeds(Jeerakam) - 1 tbsp Water - 2 cups Oil - 3 tbsp Mustard seeds - 1 tbsp Onion - 2 nos Black pepper - 2 tsp Green chillies - 3 - Garlic pods - 3 nos Curry leaves(A few) - Salt(As reqd) - Yoghurt - 2 cups Votes: 11 Rating: 4 You: Rate this recipe! Instructions Grind together coconut, 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder, cumin seeds, 1 onion and 1 cup of water into a smooth paste. In a pressure cooker, put the remaining onion, tomatoes, 3 garlic pods, green chillies, 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder and 1 cup of water and cook, till it is done. Heat oil in a pan or a kadai. Splutter mustard seeds. Add curry leaves, black pepper and all the above ingredients and bring it to a boil. Remove the pan from the heat. After a couple of minutes, pour the yoghurt. :- Make sure you pour the yoghurt when the ingredients are warm and not when it is hot. Add salt and mix well. Put the whole thing back on the heat and stir it till you see the steam and then turn it off. :- Don¦t let the curry boil after you pour the yoghurt. :- Serve it on rice. :- Let me know how it turned out.
