American Chocolate Chip Muffins

  • 75 gm Chocolate pref Cooking chocolate slabs else regular Milk Chocolate Bars can also be substituted
  • 250 gm Butter
  • 250 gm Sugar
  • 5 nos Eggs
  • 250 gm Flour
  • 1/4 tsp Baking powder


  • Grate the chocolate.
  • Sieve flour and baking powder together.
  • Mix the grated chocolate with the flour and keep aside.
  • Cream together butter and sugar.
  • Add 1 egg at a time to the butter sugar mixture and keep beating till all eggs are used up.
  • Add the flour mixture to the above mixture and fold in with a wooden spoon or spatula.
  • :- Do not use a beater or a mixer here as the chocolate in the flour will melt due to excessive beating.
  • Fill in this cake mixture in paper bags and pipe into greased muffin trays.
  • Bake at 180C in a preheated oven for 15 - 20 mins.
  • :- To check if the muffin is cooked, insert a toothpick through the centre of the muffin and if it comes out clean, the muffins are ready. :- Also the cake will give a very nice aroma and will look nice and brown on top.
  • :- In case of non availability of muffin tray, it can baked in small katories or baked in a huge cake tray and cut into pieces and served.
  • :- You may also used ready to use Chocolcate chips instead of the chocolate bars.
