Banana Fritters With Jagerry (Sharkara Pazhampori)

It is a traditional evening snack. It is simple and delicious.

  • 1 cup Maida
  • 4 tbsp Rice flour
  • 1/2 cup Jagerry
  • 2 nos Banana Mashed by hand , palayamkodam
  • 4. Kerala banana etha pazham
  • A pinch of salt.
  • Oil for frying.


  • Melt the grated jagerry with required water and keep it aside.
  • Mix both the flours together, add the jaggery syrup, mashed bananas, salt and mix well to make a batter. (Add water if needed ).The batter should be thicker than the idli batter.
  • Slice the kerala bananas (etha pazham ) into thin pieces. Dip the sliced bananas in the batter.
  • Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the bananas until both sides become golden brown colour. Drain the excess oil and serve hot.
  • Serve it hot with a cup of tea or coffee.
