- Elephant yam - 250 g
- Coconut - 1 cup
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Chilly powder - 3/4 tsp
- Shallots - 5
- Green chily(garlic-1 clove) -
- Cumin seed - 1/2 tsp
- Dry red chilly - 3
- Mustard - 1/2 tsp
- Oil - 2 tbsp
- Curry leaves -

- For preparing the delicious stir fry, first chop elephant yam, cook it in water with red chilly powder turmeric powder and salt as required.
- Coarsely grind grated coconut, green chilly, cumin seeds and garlic in a mixer.
- When it turns to golden brown in colour add curry leaves and dry red chilly. Make sure that the chilly is not burnt.
- Add the ground coconut masala. Stir fry in low flame for a few minutes.
- Add the previously cooked yam.
- Mix it well and cook it again for 1 minute.
- The delicious and nutritious stir fry is ready to serve with rice.
