A different type of makhani with healthy green gram dal. This makes a good accompaniment with rotis.

- Green gram dal - 1 cup
- Tomato(Pureed) - 3 large
- Onion - 1 large
- Ginger(small piece) -
- garlic(chopped) - 5 pods
- Red chilli powder - 1 teaspoon
- Garam masala powder - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
- Oil - 1 teaspoon
- Ghee - 1 teaspoon
- Cinnamon stick - 1
- Cloves - 2
- Cardamon - 1
- Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Fresh cream - 4-5table spoon

- Soak green gram dal for 2 hours and then pressure cook it for 4- 5 whistles. The dal should be able to mashed easily. Mash half of the dal.
- Now heat oil in a kadai and add cinnamon stick, cloves, cardamon, cumin seeds. After that add finely chopped garlic and ginger.
- Now add onions and fry till it becomes light pinkish colour.
- Then add tomato puree and cook for 3 minutes.
- add all the powders mentioned along with the salt and cook till the raw smell goes.
- Now add the cooked dal along with the stock. If needed add some water and cook for 15 minutes till the lentils absorb the spices.

- At this stage add the fresh cream and stir well. cook in sim for 5 minutes and turn off the heat.

- Now the tasty makhani is ready.
Recipe Notes
We can use black pepper powder instead of red chilli powder. That will give you an amazing taste.
