Ingredients
- Black gram(Uzhunnu/Urad dal) - 1 cup
- Idli Rava - 3 cups
- Salt(As reqd) -
- Onion - 2 nos
- Green chillies - 5 -
- Curry leaves(A few) -
- Oil -
- Sugar - 1 spoon
- Lemon - 1/2 of
- Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
- Asafoetida(A pinch, Kayam) -

Instructions
- Soak black gram for 1 hour and grind it.
- Mix 3 times idli rava and keep the batter for 8 hrs.
- Prepare idli from that rava.
- When idli becomes cold, smash it and make it as normal mixture.
- Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.
- Splutter mustard seeds.
- Add a pinch of asafoetida, curry leaves and green chillies.
- Add chopped onion and fry till they turn golder brown in color.
- Mix it properly and keep it for 3 - 4 mins to cook.

You said idlis that are left over????? but not mentioned about that here??
I oftenly prepare idlis and always it remains for the next days. I tried preparing this upma , it is really very very tasty. And my family members donot really makeout that the upma is prepared from yesterdays idlis.
