Karahi Ghosht is a popular North Indian dish, very yummy in taste and appeal. The dish is traditionally prepared in a thick pan named ‘karahi’. Karahi Ghosht is unique with spicy thick gravy topped and garnished with julienned ginger and lemon juice. Karahi Ghosht serves ultimate with naan, porotta and even rotis. For preparing Karahi Ghosht, first heat oil in a pan or a kadai.
Add chicken or mutton, tomatoes, red chilly powder, ginger & garlic pastes and chopped onions.
Stir well and cook over medium flame, till the meat is quite tender.
Add salt, coriander powder, turmeric powder, black pepper powder and garam masala powder, and stir well and cook for some time, till the oil separates.
Add yogurt and green chillies and let it cook for a few minutes on a medium fire.
When the dish is done, remove contents from pan into a serving dish.
Garnish Karahi Ghosht with fresh coriander leaves and some ginger julienned.
If desired, sprinkle a little lemon juice over it.
