Instructions Soak the rice in water for about one hour and crush it with hands later. Boil 1 litre of milk with cardamom grains in it on slow flame for about 45 minutes to 1 hour. It should reduce to 3/4 of its measure. Now add the crushed rice (grains) and boil till the rice grains become cooked and the measure of payasam reduces to half. Add sugar and let it boil more. Add kesar strands. Garnish it with cashew, raisins and almonds fried in ghee. Don`t fry pista. Let it simmer for another 5 minutes. Take off the gas stove. Best served cold.
