Ingredients
- Ladies finger : 250 gm -
- Red Chilli Powder : 2 tsp -
- Turmeric Powder: 1 tsp -
- Garam masala powder : 1 tsp -
- Coriander powder : 3 - 4 tsp
- Sugar : 1 tsp (only if necessary) -
- Asafoetida powder : 1 tsp -
- Cumin seeds : 1 tsp -
- Grated Coconut : ¼ Cup -
- Coconut / refined oil : 4(or as required to prepare the upperi) - 5 tsp

Instructions
- Clean the Vendakkaya and cut it into about 1 ½ inch length and then split it into 2 pieces and keep these pieces separately
- Heat the oil in a frying pan and then put the cumin seeds into the hot oil.
- Add the ladies finger pieces along with sugar, red chilli powder, asafoetida powder, turmeric powder, salt and coriander powder into it and then stir it well.
- Cover the frying pan with a plate and allow to cook the mix in low flame( please do not add water while cooking and take care for not sticking the mix in the frying pan).
- When the ladies finger is cooked well, put off the stove and change it into a bowl / serving vessel.
- Garnish the upperi with grated coconut . This upperi can be served with chappathi / poori / rice.
