- Parboiled rice/puzhukalari - 1 kg
- Shallots(Few) -
- Coconut(grated) - 1 no
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Fennel seeds - 1 tsp
- Fenugreek seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Curry leaves - 1 hand
- Salt(to taste) -

- For preparing Malabar Thenga Choru, first wash the rice well and drain it.
- Heat water in a vessel along with grated coconut, chopped shallots, cumin seeds and fenugreek seeds.
- When it starts to boil, add rice and salt as required.
- Stir occasionally and cook it for 40-45 minutes.
- Add curry leaves and put the flame in simmer mode to dry if it is wet.
- Serve Malabar Thenga Choru hot with beef curry.
