Ingredients
- Masoor dal(Red parippu) - 1 cup
- Onion(large) - 1 nos
- Garlic pods - 6 nos
- Ginger(A small piece) -
- Green chillies - 4 nos
- Tomato(large) - 1 no
- Turmeric powder - ½ tsp
- Oil - 1 tbsp
- Salt(As reqd) -
- Coriander leaves(for garnishing) -

Instructions
- Wash and cook the dal in a pressure cooker with turmeric powder, salt and water.
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Add chopped onion. Saute till it turns light brown in colour.
- Grind ginger, garlic and green chillies together.
- Add the above masala to the fried onion.
- Add chopped tomato and saute well.
- Cover and cook until the onion and tomatoes become soft.
- Add cooked dal to the above masala and mix well.
- Add some coriander leaves.
- Transfer the contents to a serving bowl and serve.
- :- This dal curry tastes delicious with white rice like basmati rice, ponni rice, kolam rice.
