- Shallots(kunjulli) - 10 nos
- Coconut(grated) - 1/2 cup
- Tomato - 1 no
- Fenugreek seeds(Uluva) - 1 tsp
- Coriander powder - 1 tbsp
- Chilly powder - 2 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
- Tamarind - 1 lemon
- Mustard - 1 tsp
- Dry red chillies - 2 nos
- Curry leaves(Few) -
- Salt(As reqd) -

Instructions
- For preparing nadan ulli theeyal, first roast grated coconut, onion, coriander powder, chilly powder, turmeric and fenugreek seeds till brown.
- Grind them well.
- Heat oil, splutter mustard seeds, red chillies and add tomato.
- When tomato becomes soft, add the ground paste.
- Cook well. Add curry leaves.
- When gravy becomes thick, remove from flame.
