  • Boil 2 cups of water

  • Add the Nellikka (Gooseberry) along with half-a- tspn Turmieric powder and some salt in the boiled water

  • Boil the water further in a medium flame for some time

  • When the Gooseberry starts to burst, put off the stove and remove water from it and allow to cool.

  • Remove the seeds from the Gooseberries

  • Add Red Chilli Powder, Asafoetida powder and Fenugreek Powder

  • Stir the mix well (add 1 – 2 tspns Sesame oil also, if necessary)

  • Also add ½ cup of hot water and stir the mix well.

  • Nellikka (Gooseberry) pickle is ready. It can be served as side dish for Dosa, Cooked rice etc.
