Pineapple Gojju

Ingredients
- Canned crushed pineapple(small) - 1 no
- Sesame seeds(Ellu) - 1 tbsp
- Black gram(Uzhunnuparippu) - 1 tbsp
- Bengal gram(Kadalaparippu) - 1 tbsp
- Dry red chillies(Kollamulaku) - 3 nos
- Green chillies - 2 nos
- Chick Peas - 1 tsp
- Asafoetida(Kayam) - 1/4 tsp
- Tamarind paste(Puli) - 1/2 tsp
- Jaggery(A small piece, Sharkkara) -
- or -
- Brown sugar - 1 tbsp
- Grated Coconut - 1/2 cup
- Salt(As reqd) -
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Oil - 4 -
- Mustard seeds - 1 tsp

Instructions
- Dry fry sesame seeds, black gram, Bengal gram, red chillies and asafoetida, till they all turn roast for about 5 - 6 mins.
- Grind the fried ingredients with green chillies, chick peas, tamarind paste, jaggery (or brown sugar) and grated coconut along with a little water into a smooth paste.
- Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.
- Splutter mustard seeds.
- Add turmeric powder followed by the canned crushed pineapple and fry the pineapple for about 15 mins approximately.
- Add the ground paste to the fried pineapple and fry further 10 mins.
- Add salt and mix well.
- Remove kadai from the heat.
- :- This goes well as a side dish with chappathis or rice & rasam and can be eaten hot or cold.

very delicious, can try the same recipe with finely chopped ripe mango in place of pineapple for variation.
