Rava Kichidi South Indian Style

Rava Kichadi is one of the most favorite South Indian Breakfast. It is prepared with rava, vegetables and a generous amount of ghee. It is similar to rava bath or khara bath. Usually it is prepared with ghee which gives the soft texture to the kichadi

  • Roast the rava in a pan for 5 minutes in low flame
  • boil the fresh green peas separately by adding salt in cooker and allow 1 whistle
  • chop the onion, green chilli, tomato, carrot, beans and aloo
  • in a pan heat oil and melt the ghee
  • temper the mustard, broken urad dal, bengal gram and curry leaves
  • add onion and green chilli and saute it for 5 minutes until the onion turn into brown
  • add tomato, mix well and saute it
  • add salt and turmeric powder and mix well
  • add carrot, beans and aloo and mix well
  • add ginger garlic paste and mix well and allow to fry until the raw smell goes out
  • add 1 glass of water to boil the vegetables
  • once the vegetables get boiled, add water. for 2 cup of rawa, 5 cup of water and allow to boil
  • add boiled green peas and mix well
  • now add roasted rawa and mix well continuously, until the the rawa get boiled in medium flame
  • now rawa kichidi is ready
  • take in one bowl and keep it in a plate and garnish with the coriander leaves
