  • Heat ghee in a pan. Add mustard seeds/ rye. After it splutters add the urad dal and fry till it turns golden brown in color.
  • Optional- Add cashews and by the time, the cashews get browned the dal would also get browned.
  • Add the curry leaves, slit green chilies and finely chopped ginger and stir fry for a minute.
  • Add the sliced onion and sautT for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the semolina/rawa and mix all the ingredients well. Roast the rawa for 10 minutes on a low flame, stirring all the while.
  • After the rawa has been roasted well add the sugar, salt and boiling water.
  • Cover the pan and leave to cook for 5 minutes or till the water has dried up.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
