Sambar Vada

Sambar vada is one of the favorite snack dishes served with chutney. Hot, crispy vadas are dipped in a delicious sambar and served. The vadas are soaked and the dish tastes simply awesome and delicious. Sambar Vada is quite popular in South Indian restaurants and the dish is tempting. The vadas can be dipped in any variety of sambar. Soaking makes the vadas very tender and soft that can be relished to your heart's desire. Vadas are soaked for 15 to 20 minutes so that they absorb the juices well and turns soft. Vadas are very easy to prepare and whenever you have leftover sambar, go for the variety snack. Ingredients
  

  • 250 gm Black gram Uzhunnuparippu
  • Soda bi-carb - A pinch
  • Salt As reqd
  • Oil for deep frying

Instructions
 

  • For preparing the tasty dish, first soak black gram overnight.
  • Drain off the excess water.
  • Grind it in a grinder without using water.
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • By the time the oil gets heated, beat the mixture till it becomes fluffy.
  • Add salt and a pinch of soda-bi-carb. Mix well.
  • Wet your palm and spread 1 tbsp of the mixture on it and make a hole in the center to get the desired shape. Carefully remove vada from your palm and fry them to a golden brown colour.
  • While serving, put these vadas in a bowl of Sambar topped with chopped coriander leaves. Soak the crispy vadas in hot sambar for 15 to 20 minutes before serving.
  • :- Makes 25 Vadas. The tasty snack is ready. Enjoy the dish hot with your loved ones over a cup of hot tea. The snack is very popular in South Indian restaurants.

    You cannot make a tasty uzhunnu vada with this recipe. You have to add small onions, ginger, chilli and curry leaves to make a better vada.

    Arey, I dont think this uzhunnu vada is gonna taste good.No spices and other main ingredients.
