  • 250 g Rice boiled with grains separated
  • 2 tbsp Sesame seeds Ellu
  • 4-5 nos Red chilies broken into bits
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice
  • Curry leaves Few
  • 6-8 nos Pepper corns
  • 1 tsp Split bengal gram Uzhunnu parippu
  • Asafoetida powder A pinch, Kayam
  • Salt As reqd
  • Ghee As reqd
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Cashew nuts fried


  • For preparing sesame rice, fry the sesame seeds, pepper corns, split bengal gram and asafoetida powder in a little ghee and grind to a fine powder.
  • Heat 1-2 tbsp ghee in a pan, add in curry leaves, rice, powdered mixture and salt along with lemon juice. Mix well.
  • Sesame rice is ready. Garnish with cashew nuts and serve hot.
