Cuisine Kerala Prep Time 40 minutes Servings people MetricUS Imperial Ingredients Mutton - 1/2 kg Onion(chopped, big) - 250 gm Ginger(medium) - 2 pieces Pepper powder - 1 tbsp Lime juice - 1/4 tsp Green chillies(medium) - 3 nos Coriander powder - 2 heaped Cumin seeds(Jeerakam) - 1 tbsp Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp Salt(As reqd) - Curry leaves(A few) - Water - 1 - Oil - 4 tbsp Coriander leaves(chopped) for garnishing - Cuisine Kerala Prep Time 40 minutes Servings people MetricUS Imperial Ingredients Mutton - 1/2 kg Onion(chopped, big) - 250 gm Ginger(medium) - 2 pieces Pepper powder - 1 tbsp Lime juice - 1/4 tsp Green chillies(medium) - 3 nos Coriander powder - 2 heaped Cumin seeds(Jeerakam) - 1 tbsp Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp Salt(As reqd) - Curry leaves(A few) - Water - 1 - Oil - 4 tbsp Coriander leaves(chopped) for garnishing - Votes: 9 Rating: 4 You: Rate this recipe! Instructions Wash the mutton thoroughly. Add salt and lime juice. Marinate for 10 mins. Wash it once again and drain. Grind together ginger, cumin seeds, pepper powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt into a fine paste. Heat oil in a pan or a kadai. SautT the onion, till it becomes transparent. Add green chillies and curry leaves. Add ground masala and sautT, till aroma comes (approx-5 min). Reduce the flame and add mutton. Mix it well. Cover and cook for 5 mins on a low flame. Remove the lid and pour 1 cup of boiled water and cook well, till the gravy becomes thick. Garnish with coriander leaves. :- Serve hot with chappathis, roti or rice. :- This preparation can also be used with mutton liver or chicken with potato.
