Ingredients
- Ginger root(crushed) - 1 tsp
- garlic(crushed) - 1 tsp
- Onion(large and sliced) - 1 no
- Gram flour(Kadala podi) - 2 tbsp
- Green apple(peeled and diced) - 1 no
- Curry powder - 1 heaped
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Tomatoes(peeled and chopped, medium) - 2 nos
- Bay leaf(Vazhana/karuga ela) - 1 no
- Black pepper(coarsely ground) - 1 tsp
- Veg stock - 3 cups
- Boiled rice(optional) - 1 -
- Oil - 1-2 tbsp
- Lemon wedges for garnishing -

Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Add the gram flour, apple, curry powder, turmeric, tomatoes, bay leaf, pepper and veg stock.
- Bring to a boil, cover and reduce heat. Simmer for 45 minutes.
- Process in a blender or pass through a sieve.
- Add the rice (if using). Stir well.
- :- Serve with lemon wedges.
