Garlic

Onion
large and sliced

Gram flour
Kadala podi
1

Green
apple
peeled and diced
1
heaped
Curry powder
1/4
tsp
Turmeric powder
2
nos
Tomatoes
peeled and chopped, medium
1
no
Bay leaf
Vazhana/karuga ela
1
tsp
Black pepper
coarsely ground
3
cups
Veg stock
1
-
Boiled rice
optional
1-2
tbsp
Oil
Lemon Wedges for garnishing
Instructions
Heat
oil
in a pan.
Add the
ginger
and
garlic
and saute for 2 minutes.
Add
onion
and saute until the
onion
is transparent.
Add the
gram flour
,
apple
, curry powder,
turmeric
, tomatoes, bay leaf, pepper and veg stock.
Bring to a boil, cover and reduce heat. Simmer for 45 minutes.
Process in a blender or pass through a sieve.
Add the rice (if using). Stir well.
:- Serve with lemon wedges.
