1/2 cup Red gram (Thuvaraparippu)2 tbsp Pearl onions (minced, Kunjulli)2 sprigs Curry leaves3 - Garlic pods1/2 tsp Turmeric powder2 nos Green chillies (slit)2 tbsp Dry coconut powderSalt (As reqd)1 tbsp Ghee1/2 tsp Cumin powder (Jeerakam) Cook the dal with enough water, salt, turmeric, garlic and green chillies in the pressure cooker until dal is soft and mushy.Heat 1/2 the ghee in a pan.Fry the minced pearl onions until soft.Add the curry leaves and saute.Add the cooked dal and bring to a rapid boil. Add the coconut powder and cumin powder.Add water to your like and adjust the seasonings. When it boils well, remove from fire.:- Serve with rice and papad and top with remaining ghee. Kerala
