Ingredients
- Unripe Plantain skins(finely chopped, vazhakka) - 4 cups
- Green gram - 1/4 cup
- Fresh grated coconut - 1 cup
- Green chillies – 2 - 3 nos
- Cumin seeds(jeerakam) - 1/2 tsp
- Curry leaves(few) -
- Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
- Dried red chilies - 3 nos
- Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
- Salt(as reqd) -
- Oil - 1 tbsp

Instructions
- Cook green gram with salt till soft not mushy, drain it and keep aside.
- Add the finely chop plantain skins (Vazhakka tholi) and soak it in water along with half a spoon of turmeric powder for half an hour.
- Drain the water and keep aside.
- Meanwhile coarsely grind grated coconut, green chilies, 2 pinches of turmeric and cumin seeds.
- Heat oil in a pan. splutter mustard seeds,red chilies and curry leaves.
- Add chopped Vazhakka tholi, salt and saute well.
- Cook it covered under low heat for 10 minutes.
- Add the cooked green gram and saute till the thoran is dry
- :-Vazhakka Toli Thoran is ready to serve hot with rice or roti!!!
