Aratikaya - Kobbarikoru Curry

  • Boil the bananas in a vessel until they are smooth. Peel the outer husk.
  • Cut the bananas into small cubes.
  • Add oil to a deep bottomed pan and heat. Splutter mustard seeds and fry onion pieces. Fry until they turn into golden brown colour. Add ginger-garlic paste and fry further until the raw smell of the paste goes.
  • Add the coconut grated and fry till oil shows up.
  • Now add the banana pieces and turmeric powder. Mix well and fry.
  • Finally add the half split green chillies, red chilly powder and sufficient salt. Add about half cup water and mix well.
  • Allow to simmer in medium flame until the contents are blended with each other well and the oil shows up.
  • Serve hot with rice. Good with other staple foods also.
