- Rice flakes(Aval) - 1 cup
- Raw Rice(Pachari) - 3 cups
- Curd - 1/2 cup
- Fenugreek seeds(Uluva/Methi) - 1 tsp
- Oil(As reqd) -
- Salt(As reqd) -

Instructions
- Wash rice and rice flakes and soak in water along with fenugreek seeds and curd for about 5 hrs.
- Grind all the ingredients finely and make it into a batter as that of dosa or slightly thicker.
- Allow it to ferment for about 7 - 8 hrs.
- Heat griddle and grease it with oil.
- Pour the batter and spread it slightly to make thick appams.
- Cover it and cook till done.
- :- Do not flip the sides.
- :- Serve hot with onion chutney.
