  • 1 cup Channa You can use white or black, Kadla
  • 1 no Onion finely chopped
  • Ginger finely chopped
  • Green chillies finely chopped
  • 1 cup Rusk powder
  • 5 tbsp Allpurpose flour Maida
  • Salt As reqd
  • Oil for frying


  • Soak channa in cold water for about 8 hours.
  • Pressure cook it for about 15 mins.
  • Smash the cooked channa well and keep it aside.
  • Mix together smashed channa, 1/2 cup of rusk powder, onion, green chillies, ginger and salt.
  • Mix 5 tbsp of maida with water and make it into a semisolid paste.
  • :- It should not be watery.
  • Make small balls off the channa mixture and and press it lightly.
  • Roll it in the remaining rusk powder.
  • Deep fry them in hot oil.
