Cherupayar Kanji is otherwise termed the ‘healthy as well as tasty porridge’ from God’s Own Country. This is the most popular gruel among the middle class especially the working lot. Green Gram Gruel loads them with sufficient energy needed to carry out their daily working chores. The best part of Cherupayar Kanji is that it is easily digestible. It also serves as the best soothing food especially when you are sick. The dish provides sufficient protein and energy essential for your body and by the time you fully recover your body will not show any sign of ill health or weakness. I love Green Gram Gruel for lunch too and I accompany it with a hot spicy coconut chutney which is my favorite for all occasions. I was in search of the recipe and am happy i got a detailed illustration of the recipe from my friend. I am sure you will try out the dish and do not forget to send me feedback.

Cherupayar Kanji is a blessing for working mothers who arrive late and they are concerned for their family about what to prepare. A wise mother will always opt for healthy foods and Green Gram Gruel is one such unique and special food that requires just a few minutes to be put together. Cherupayar Kanji is wholesome and healthy rich in vital nutrients required for body. You can reduce the spiciness in the kanji as per requirement if kids are involved. Kids do not like chilly flavors. And the most important point while preparing Cherupayar Kanji, you should check the watery consistency and do accordingly. Some prefer it of a thick consistency and not too watery. But I prefer a mild watery consistency. You can explore a well detailed Cherupayar Kanji recipe here that can be prepared at home.
