Ingredients
- Murungakai(drumstick) - 2 nos
- Small onion(chopped, Kunjulli) - 10 nos
- Tomato(medium size) - 1 no
- Toor dal(Tomara Parippu) - 1 cup
- Tamarind(a small lemon size) -
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Sambar powder - 2 tbsp
- Salt(as reqd) -
- Curry leaves(a few) -
For Seasoning:-
- Mustard(few) -
- Asafoetida(few) -
- Urad dhal(few) -
- Fenugreek(few) -

Instructions
- For preparing Chettinad Muringakka Sambar, first pressure cook thoor dhal and keep it aside.
- Cut Muringakka( Drumstick) into small pieces.
- Add Murungakai, onions and tomato to cooked dhal.
- Sdd Sambar powder and salt to the above mixture.
- Add water to cover and cook in low flame till the vegetables are cooked.
- Add this to the above and allow it to boil till it comes to desired consistency
- Heat little oil in a pan and add all seasoning items and add to sambar.
- Bring it to boil for another 2-3 minutes.
- :- Delicious Chettinad Spicy Drumstic Sambar is ready.
- :- Can server the Sambar with hot rice or with idli and dosa.
