  • 2 lb Chicken
  • 1/2 cup Small onions cut in half, Kunjulli
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • Salt As reqd

*You can make ur own garam masala too by grinding together the following:-


  • Clean the chicken and cut into small pieces.
  • :- You can use boneless chicken too, but this will be tasty if u use chicken with bones.
  • To this chicken, add the ingredients mentioned for marination and mix all together.
  • Add the salt and the small onions and mix well.
  • Add water and cook on low heat till the chicken is all cooked and soft.
  • Meanwhile, grind the ingredients mentioned for the gravy in a blender and keep aside.
  • Once the chicken is cooked, and the gravy is made, heat oil in a pan or a kadai.
  • Splutter mustard seeds and saute red chillies.
  • Add the dry gravy to this and fry for 1 min.
  • Add the cooked chicken to it draining the water if any.
  • :- Try to cook the chicken till there is no water left.
  • Mix chicken and coconut gravy together and allow it to stay on low flame for 10 more minutes in the closed pan.
